ADG’s sustainability unit has exciting start to 2023!

As part of the previously mentioned reorganization of ADG, we welcomed our new Sustainability Director, Shahad Nejaim, who is leading the sustainability unit. Patrick Meyer has moved to an independent advisory role on the Sustainability Council, alongside Gail Klintworth. The Sustainability Council has undergone a restructuring as well. It is now comprised of ADG’s CEO and Sustainability Director with vertical CEOs and CSOs to focus on driving both the sustainability agenda and impactful giving. The council will meet on a quarterly basis and chairmanship will be held by ADG’s Chairman & CEO. The goal is to guide the portfolio companies to becoming strategic in their sustainability efforts and driving business value.

We already have much to celebrate across our verticals:

  • RSI published their first sustainability report in February
  • Petromin partnered with PepsiCo KSA to pilot and launch the first EV delivery truck in the Kingdom to decarbonize commercial fleets
  • Tanmiah & Electromin have been named amongst the Top 10 Sustainable Environment & Supply of Essential Needs Companies in Saudi Arabia by Forbes Middle East

In addition, we held our 20th Sustainability Council Meeting at the end of March, setting the tone for the rest of the year when it comes to our sustainability related activities and strategy. We have also selected the ESG index that we’ll use to objectively measure our sustainability progress in a more data-driven manner. Specifically, we are now working toward establishing ADG and its subsidiaries as strategic, data-driven and industry-leading sustainable businesses with a “AAA” MSCI ESG Rating by 2030.

The Sustainability Council will also be overseeing the various Giving initiatives across our verticals, ensuring we stay on track to achieving our goal of impacting the lives of one billion people.

We’ll keep you updated on all things sustainability at ADG!
