About this role:
Role Objectives & Responsibilities:
Tax management coordination
- Manage the holding companiess’ zakat and tax reporting process and oversee the preparation of tax payments.
- Provide tax advice and guidance for primarily the holding companies to reasonably avoid zakat and tax under the premise of legal compliance, identify and mitigate zakat and tax risks. ·
- Monitor legislative and regulatory zakat and tax law developments and communicate them internally.
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on zakat and tax matters.
Tax accounting & reporting:
- Prepare quarterly zakat and tax risk overviews (holding companies) for discussion with internal stakeholders.
- Prepare quarterly zakat and tax positions and review quarterly tax positions of verticals for reasonability.
Tax compliance & administration:
- Computation and preparation of supporting schedules for the zakat returns of the holding companies.
- Manage the holding companies’ zakat and tax statements and returns.
- Manage the settlement of the holding companies’ monthly, quarterly and annual taxes. ·
- Monitor E-Invoices and reconcile it with internal taxes reports.
Tax controversy:
- Manage the preparation of the essential documents required for holding companies’ zakat tax inspection purposes; and review the tax authority’s inspection reports and ZATCA assessments to identify and resolve issues raised.
Tax budgetting and forecasting:
- Preparation of the annual zakat and tax consultancy budget for the holding companies with the department heads.
- Preparation of the quarterly zakat and tax (re)forecast for the holding companies.
Tax systems and processes:
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in holding companies’ zakat and tax procedures. ·
- Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices and zakat and tax risk controls.·
Ensure Finance Department policies and procedures are followed and update, if required.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Required work experience:
- At least 3-5 years of relevant tax experience in the KSA
- Working knowledge and understanding of all relevant statutory legislation and regulations (Zakat, WHT and VAT)
- Strong understanding of (tax) accounting principles
- Prior tax experience in either financial / assurance services (Big 4) or ZATCA is preferred
- Prior experience with Oracle Fusion or similar system is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Powerpoint and Word
