The Youngest Omnipreneurs: How Fitness Affects Life

A little over a year ago the Omni Unit launched a health and wellbeing challenge for our colleagues – The Youngest Omnipreneur Challenge. As most of you may remember the idea behind it is to use a little friendly competition to push each of us closer to living our healthiest and best possible lives. It’s no secret that a fitter lifestyle leads to a clearer mind, quicker thinking and a reduction in stress…it’s a win-win for yourself and for those around you!

To get us geared up for the challenge, colleagues were given their very own Garmin smart-watches in order to track their fitness progress. Things like tracking your sleep, diet and overall activity levels, all working toward tracking your fitness age, as you do your best to lower it! We are well into the competition, with three hard-working, disciplined and lucky winners from the past three quarters: Mohammed Asif and Abdulrahim were tied winners the first quarter of the competition, each winning an iPhone. Next up was Batool Bukhari, followed by Shaimaa Saab, both also iPhone winners. When we get there, the colleague that wins the competition for the year will be sent off to Dubai, on a well deserved rest and relaxation weekend.

Commenting on her win, Batool shared some words of wisdom with us on what it takes to win: “Becoming the youngest Omnipreneur requires a unique blend of an optimistic spirit and personal discipline. To achieve this goal, it’s essential to develop a disciplined approach while keeping the journey enjoyable. Set achievable goals and find ways to make your fitness journey exciting. By combining these elements, you can create a sustainable path towards your aspiration.”

Abdulrahim Al Malki became a winner by sticking to his commitment of walking every day for one hour — getting those steps in was key!

Everyone’s journey with this challenge is unique, so we also asked our colleague Shaimaa for some advice as well. She had this to say: “I started with a fitness age of 31 years old and successfully reduced it to 26 years old, effectively decreasing my fitness age by 5 years. I achieved this by combining the Go Walk program with the Youngest Omnipreneur Competition. I committed to walking 10,000 steps daily for 30 days, and upon completing my steps, I engaged in strength training. Each day, I focused on a different muscle group, taking two days off per week from strength training while still completing my daily steps.”

Meanwhile our colleague, Muhammad Asif Hanif had this to say about his participation in the competition “Becoming one of the youngest Omnipreneurs has been an exciting and rewarding journey. The key elements for me have been consistency, discipline, and punctuality—showing up every day with determination and a clear vision, no matter the challenges. I have learned that staying consistent is what ultimately brings results. For anyone aiming to achieve something similar, my advice would be to remain focused, embrace setbacks as learning opportunities, and never underestimate the power of resilience. The effort has been intense, but it’s also brought a great sense of accomplishment and personal growth. I am excited to see where this experience will lead next!”

If their experiences aren’t great advice on how to join in on the fun and the competition with effective strategies and some inspiration, we don’t know what is!
